Roasted black milk tea


Got this recipe from a teammate—it’s so easy and so good :) It’s been less convenient to pick up storebought milk tea these days, so this really hits the spot when the craving hits!

Ingredients:

  • 3 bags Tetley’s Orange Pekoe tea
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 cups whole milk

Instructions:

  1. Rip open tea bags and pour contents into a saucepan, along with the sugar.
  2. Toast on medium heat until, well, toasty haha. The sugar may start crystallizing—use a wooden spoon to break into smaller pieces.
  3. Warm the milk in the microwave (1.5 mins or so), then pour into the saucepan. Mix well, and let the tea steep for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Strain, then chill in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  5. Enjoy :)

Makes 2 servings.
